County seat: Burley
Business funding in Cassia County.
Cassia County is where the Mini-Cassia region processes and ships. Its largest employment sector is trade, transportation and utilities, and its top-employer list is thick with trucking and distribution firms alongside a large potato processing operation in Burley. Interstate 84 bisects the county, which is why freight ranks above manufacturing here.
Minidoka across the Snake River is the production side — beets, grain, dairy. Cassia is the throughput side, and throughput businesses need equipment and receivables capital rather than crop-cycle capital.
The county also reaches south into genuinely different country: the Albion Mountains, the South Hills and high desert toward Utah, where ranching rather than irrigated row cropping is the working economy, and where City of Rocks draws climbers from across the country.

How Cassia County businesses actually borrow.
Logistics borrows in equipment
Trucking and distribution firms here finance tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and warehouse racking on scheduled replacement cycles, and they carry receivables against shippers on standard freight terms. That is a fleet-finance and factoring conversation rather than an operating-loan one, and the discipline is to keep each asset on its own term while the revolving line stays free for fuel, repairs and payroll. A haulier without a working line during a fuel spike is a haulier parking trucks.
Processing capex is lumpy, and so is the raw-product buy
A large plant adds capital in big, infrequent increments — lines, cold storage, utilities — and it buys the crop in a compressed autumn window. Suppliers, contractors and service firms around it feel both rhythms: a capital-project year is very different from a maintenance year. Sizing a facility to a capital-project year and then trying to service it through a quiet one is the most common way a good contractor here gets into trouble.
The southern county is a different balance sheet
Cattle operations in the Albion Mountains and the high desert borrow on livestock and land, with revenue arriving at sale rather than spread through the year. That is closer to a single-settlement ag note than to the freight economy on the interstate, and it needs an agricultural lender rather than a commercial one. Two economies, one county — say which one you are in at the outset.
One downtown, two counties
Burley is a split-county city, with portions in both Cassia and Minidoka, and its industrial park is shared with Heyburn across the line. That is unusual and it matters for permitting, for which development organisation covers a project and occasionally for where a parcel sits for tax purposes. It also means the local trade area is larger than a Cassia-only view of it suggests.

Freight receivables on standard shipper terms are among the most routinely funded there are.
How factoring worksLines of Credit
Fuel, repairs and payroll need headroom that equipment finance should not consume.

Each of these is written around that town’s own economy rather than the county’s. Where they differ from this page, the town page is the more specific answer.
And the towns without a page of their own
Declo, Oakley, Albion, Malta, Almo, Elba are served exactly the same way. We have not written pages for them because we could not say anything about them that we would not also be saying about their neighbours — and a page written that way helps nobody. This page is the honest version.
County and regional organisations worth knowing
We are not affiliated with any of these and we get nothing for mentioning them. They are simply where a Cassia County business owner can find support that has nothing to sell them.

- Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce

- Burley Development Authority
